Prepress typesetting services in languages other than English are a common category of service we’re asked to perform.

Multilingual typesetting services are performed by specialists in the typesetting application (e.g., InDesign, Illustrator, Quark, et. al.). These application specialists are also experienced in working with non-English languages. They work solely in placing multilingual text into the various application environments to match the original design as closely as possible. Some adjustment in some languages can be needed due to the fact the some languages may require more or less space than the original English.
Translators work only with language, independent of formatting in most cases. In this way personnel are assigned tasks that correspond to their strengths, whether language or typesetting/formatting.
