Certified Translation Standard Deliverables

When clients need a certified translation it’s usually for an official purpose. It might be for submission to a government authority (either local, state, federal, or international). Government authorities usually publish their requirements for a certified translation. In those cases we can modify our deliverables (if necessary) in order to conform with the authority’s definition of a certified translation.

In the absence of a clearly defined requirement our standard certified translation deliverables are provided. Our standard deliverables for a certified translation are:

1) The translation itself: Translations consist of the source document represented in a customer defined target language (e.g., Spanish source expressed in English target language). Translations follow the basic formatting of the source language document but are usually not mirror images. We’ve heard of government authorities objecting to translated documents that too closely mirror the formatting of the source documents.

2) A signed certification: Our standard text for our certification is written as a signed letter. The text of the letter follows:

3) Delivery Options: On request we can apply a company stamp to the actual translation page(s) and sign them. Certifications can also be notarized when required.

In 90% of the certified translation projects we perform our standard deliverables meet the client’s requirements without customization. When they do not we’re usually able to modify our deliverables to provide exactly what a client needs.
